The Optimum account is a flexible, interest bearing demand account with the optional benefit of a debit card and/or personalised cheque book. This account is designed for those clients who require a transaction based facility.

Benefits include:
  • currencies - Pounds sterling, US dollars and Euro

  • interest on cleared balances
  • debit card
  • cheque book (only Sterling accounts)
  • simple to open and operate
Minimum initial deposit
  • Pounds Sterling £3,000
  • United States Dollars US$5,000
  • Euro 5,000
Interest
Interest is calculated on the daily cleared balance and added gross on a quarterly basis.

Visa Debit Card
To enable you to have the widest possible means of access to your funds held offshore, we provide a Visa debit card for use with the Optimum account in either Pounds sterling, United States dollars or Euro. You can use the debit card in all ATM's and merchant outlets world-wide which display the Visa and Delta badges. Opening an account could not be easier.

Treasury

The Bank’s highly experienced in-house treasury team is able to offer a comprehensive range of products and services.
• “Spot” and “Forward” foreign exchange rates quoted in all convertible currencies
• Margin trading facilities
• Derivative products – including Options and Futures spanning a range of financial assets
• Up to date treasury market information

Loans and guarantees

Operating within an overall policy of short to medium term lending, the bank will consider proposals for secured facilities by way of overdraft or
fixed loan in all major currencies, together with collateralised guarantees and indemnities.
Loans and guarantees may be granted which are secured against cash deposits, quoted investments, real estate or life policies.

Offshore Visa Debit Card

The Offshore Visa Debit Card enables funds held in your Optimum account to be accessed through the global Visa network and
can be used to make purchases of goods and services without the need to carry large amounts of cash, cheques or travellers' cheques. It can also be used to obtain cash when required.
• Ability to pay for goods and services where the Visa mark is displayed. - Presently more than 21 million locations in over 300 countries and territories
• Access to cash in local currency from the 645,000 automated teller machines in over 300 countries and territories around the world
• May be used for the payment for goods and services purchased by mail, telephone or over the internet
• Payments charged directly to the Optimum account
• Optimum account statement includes details of all transactions
• Flexible transaction limits accommodating temporary increases or decreases to suit personal requirements
• Security features under the new CHIP and PIN regime Payments

The Bank offers full international payment capabilities through its Global Correspondent network and membership of SWIFT providing an effective
money transfer capability in most convertible currencies across a number of jurisdictions and time zones.

Cheque books

Sterling cheque book facilities are available, on request, for both individuals and corporates, providing full clearing capabilities in the United Kingdom.

Standing orders/direct debits

Standing order and direct debit facilities can be arranged for settlement of regular payments.

Electronic on-line access

The Bank understands how important it is to stay in touch with your finances, and its increasing range of on-line services allows you to do
just that.

• Statement facilities providing both historical and forward dated transaction details
• Facility to download statements
• Funds may be transferred instantly between accounts held offshore with the bank
• Ability to instruct third party payments to accounts held at other banks worldwide
